1. Title: Wellness in the Workplace

Description: Activist & Wellness Therapist Nadia George will discuss the importance of incorporating mental wellness into your workplace. Nadia will talk about how to integrate wellness practices that support our mental health. As a Certified Trauma Integrated Clinician (CTIC) and therapist Nadia's professional skill set is comprehensive, having experience in areas such as: dual diagnosis, concurrent disorders, trauma processing, addiction and mental health, conflict resolution, and performance coaching. Nadia helps to educate others on the differences between being CTIC and trauma informed, and how both employers and employees can create healthy work environments. 

 

Take away: In addition to suggestions on how an organization can support the well-being of its workers, Nadia will provide participants with practical and actionable tools and skills to use in the workplace.

2. Title: Understanding Trauma - affects, effects and processing

 

Description: In this keynote, Nadia will leverage her expertise to provide valuable insight to those in the helping industry ie. yoga instructors, life coaches, medical and community level practitioners, parents, social service workers, and educators) . As a Certified Trauma Integrated Clinician (CTIC), and Therapist who has worked in the social service sector for over 15 years, she shares education on the differences between being a CTIC and trauma informed practitioner. It is important to understand who should be processing trauma with clients, how to appropriately and properly process trauma with individuals, so not to do further harm. 

 

Nadia's professional skill set is comprehensive, having experience in areas such as: dual diagnosis, concurrent disorders, trauma processing, addiction and mental health, conflict resolution, and performance coaching.

3. Title: Fighting for a Better Earth: Environmental Justice

Description: 

Capturing her own lived experiences as a person who has been impacted by the effects of environmental injustice, Nadia George discusses what environmental racism and oppression looks like, what forms it can take and why it exists. She speaks to the lasting implications and disproportionate repercussions it has on marginalized groups, and the importance of bridging traditional knowledge with westernized education. This keynote is for companies, organizations, brands and individuals who wish to become more sustainable - through the knowledge shared. 

 

Take Away: 

By helping participants to understand what environmental racism, equity and justice is, gives participants the knowledge to make informed decisions on how they can be good allies and promote sustainability within their own workplace and home environments. Individuals will gain a better understanding of which companies to support, using sustainable products options, or would like to know more about how they can donate to or support movements they give assistance to those be affected, for example: supporting clean drinking water initiatives.

4. Title: Wellness in the Film/Entertainment Industry

Description: 

As an Actor & Activist, Nadia knows just how important psychological safety within the film and television industry is. With her own lived experiences as an Indigenous woman, and over a decade of experience working in the social services sector, Nadia has combined her experiences as an actor, activist and certified therapist to develop and implement plans for the entertainment industry that promote wellbeing, through supportive and inclusive environments.

 

Nadia George gained valuable insight while providing on-set crisis management, therapy and wellbeing support for cast, crew, and production team members on notable productions such as; Ronald MacDonald House campaigns, and the set of Little Bird - a new TV series coming to CraveTV.

 

Nadia is now working to bridge entertainment and wellbeing by providing therapeutic performance coaching. As a Certified Trauma Integrated Clinician (CTIC) and therapist Nadia's professional skill set is comprehensive, having experience in areas such as: dual diagnosis, concurrent disorders, trauma processing, addiction and mental health, conflict resolution, and performance coaching. Nadia helps to educate others on the differences between being CTIC and trauma informed. It is important to understand who can do this type of work, and how to appropriately and properly process trauma with individuals in a timely manner, so they can make space for the material they are working with while keeping the shoot time in mind.

Nadia George - Workshops

 

1. Title: A new take on Equity, diversity and inclusion in the Workplace: More than a policy!

 

Duration: Half-day (4 hours)

 

Description: 

Many of us have done EDI workshops or at minimum an hour training session, but how many of them look at more than just policy? How many of them left you feeling ill-equipped to implement these new ideas? In this workshop we will all come together to understand how to promote EDI on Macro and Mirco levels within the workforce.

 

Take Away: 

This workshop will help participants understand how to be active in creating safe, equitable and inclusive spaces in the workplace environment. The session will cover the 10 key topics that can assist your organization to focus on how to implement practical education that is easy to understand and promotes healthy introspection. Action plans are discussed so both employers and employees can put these tools and skills into practice. As each company and organization is different, time is given between topics for participants to work in groups to see how these tools can become best practices in the workplace.

2. Title: Act it out! 

 

Duration: Full day (8 hours)

 

Description: 

This workshop is for ages 7-18. Nadia George has incorporated her experience as a therapist and actor to create a one of a kind workshop that focuses on somatic and art therapy. Through movement and storytelling the youth will have a chance to create, move and find healthy ways to process feelings. 

 

Take Away: 

The youth will learn about acting movement preparations and tools that help to decrease anxiety. They will learn grounding techniques, story writing skills, and have the ability to create a short skit that they can choose to perform prior to the session ending.

1. Title: Wellness in Entertainment Consultations

 

Description: As each production is different it is important to have a consultation at the beginning of the project when budgeting is being discussed. Nadia George will work with your production team to help implement a wellness plan for your production team, cast and crew, to assist in creating a supportive environment.

2. Title: On-set therapeutic wellness services and performance coaching.

 

Description: Nadia George will be available to provide one on one wellness coaching or  therapeutic services for Individuals on a production, or to provide performance coaching.
